This November, as we honor Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we stand for every voiceless victim — both human and animal — who has suffered from abuse, neglect, or violence.
Our mission is more than rescue — it’s restoring hope, rebuilding trust, and proving that love can heal even the deepest wounds.

💛 Welcome to August Home, a sanctuary born from love, loss, and a promise kept. What began as an ordinary home became something extraordinary—because of one very special soul: August, my service and therapy dog, my guardian, my heart. He filled every corner of this house with warmth, kindness, and unconditional love. His presence turned pain into peace, silence into healing, and a simple shelter into a sanctuary. August wasn’t just my companion—he was my lifeline through the darkest days of my life as a survivor of domestic violence. But life is never long enough for the ones we love most. When August crossed the Rainbow Bridge far too soon, he left behind more than memories—he left a mission. He asked me, without words, to keep his home open… not for me, but for others who have been abandoned, abused, and forgotten.
Today, August Home is a safe haven for dogs who have suffered at the hands of cruelty, neglect, or trauma.
It is a place of healing, of second chances, of love without conditions. Every rescued soul who walks through our door is welcomed as family—because that’s what they are.
